Coming To The UK - From New Zealand
Coming to UK from New Zealand.
When coming over from New Zealand we can help you to start your new life in London by helping out with your accomodation, a mobile phone and a bank account.
Living in London can be very expensive but you can avoid paying too much by letting us help you. At about £60 p/w you can get a shared room or for about £80 p/w your own room in a shared flat. Deposit is usually one month's rent and you are required to pay one month's rent in advance. So the first month can be pricy but you will get your deposit back when you leave your flat, make sure that you get a receipt for the deposit.
To get a bank account you need to provide proof of address and letter proving your employment. As soon as you start working you will be able to open your account.
When it comes to work we have a great deal of various positions. Getting a job is not a problem. As soon as you come over we will get you in for an interview to get to know you better and then send you out on some interview which should lead to a job. We can also supply temp work if that's what you want to do.
If you don't feel comfortable bringing your chef's knife over we have a good deal with a leading knife supplier.
The London public transport is one of the best in the world but can be expensive if you don't know what to buy. Oyster is the new generation electronic ticket and the best deals can be bought on them. For an example, a weekly travelcard in zone 1-2 (London has 6 zones, although central London is within zone 1) will cost you £23 and you can use it as much as you want on the tube and on buses. On average, the wages in London are high and you have the chance to earn good money. Taxes are 21% on your income, and you also pay National Inaurance which is about 3-5% of your income. National Insurance pays for your health services and pension schemes. So if you have an accident, you don't have to pay anything as health care is free in the UK. We can help you sort out your own National Insurance number (you'll get a temporary one) when you start working as it requires 2 types of ID, letter of employment and proof of adress.
We can also supply a mobile phone upon arrival. It will be loaded with £10 of calling time to help you get started.
